Many of the regular posts on Instagram are custom orders. But I do sometimes create pieces to trial new ideas or for events that haven’t been claimed yet.
If you see something you like, send me a DM to discuss price and postage options. I take payment through back transfer.

Culinary tools, especially knives are personal and what you use depends on the kind of cooking you do.
When you order a custom from me, we begin with a conversation about what you need the tool to do and materials you prefer. Hand forged damascus is stunning but requires specific care, while stainless may suit for a low fuss option. You may be after an all rounder to use daily, or you might want a knife to do a specific task, like a cleaver or boning knife.

Each of my pieces is hand forged and created using salvaged and sustainably sourced materials, so your custom will be created with what is available. I don’t make weapons.

I take a 20% non-refundable deposit on all custom orders. This secures your spot on the waitlist, with the remaining amount finalised before your new culinary tool is sent to you.

Perfect! I can help you decide when you get in contact.
Things that will help to get it right is knowing what kind of cooking they’re into? For example are they a professional chef, or into BBQ? Or maybe an outdoor camping knife is more their style? Having a rough idea of their hand size and strength helps get a comfortable handle. Someone with huge hands may find regular handles too small for comfort, while a person with arthritis might find a heavy, long knife painful.

Prices vary depending on the construction of the kitchen tools, the materials used and the complexity of the design.
Small simple kitchen tools like bottle openers and butter knives start from $30, while chef knives start from $300 for a simple pairing knife. At the top end of the scale $1000 will get you a piece that is complex to create and produce, for example a high layer count damascus with hand carved wooden handle and decorative bolster.

Newsletter subscribers get notified about these product drops 48 hours before they go on Insta. I don’t flood your inbox with thousands of emails. Newsletters arrive once every few months, and only if I have events coming up, work on exhibition or a product drop to share.

Yes, for many of the pieces I create there are special care instructions, which will be sent to you with your piece. The majority of my work uses wrought iron and recycled steel. Items created with these materials are durable, sustainable and beautiful, but need to be washed and dried correctly to avoid rust. This includes mosaic and damascus pieces.
I occasionally source boutique culinary steels, which has desirable qualities for use in the kitchen, but these materials add cost and are subject to supply. For low maintenance culinary tools, forged stainless steels are a great choice for fuss free kitchen adventures.
None of these can go in the dishwasher.

I offer sharpening on all knives I have made as long as you can get it back to me via post or drop off.
To sharpen at home, I recommend Japanese stones. Drag throughs will ruin the edge.
Can’t be bothered posting it back to me? For sharpening services, and as a small business and artist I recommend supporting the little guys in your local area.
If you are in Brisbane, we recommend visiting our friends at Japanese Knife Studio on Adelaide Street, for sharpening services or classes.
